Karl Strohmeyer joined Equinix in 2013 after 12 years at Level 3 Communications, where he was Group Vice President for the North American Enterprise Group. There, he was responsible for building and overseeing a sales force of more than 1,200 people, generating approximately $2.5 billion (£1.6 billion) in annual revenue. Prior to this, Strohmeyer led the Global Carrier Channel for Level 3 and managed sales teams responsible for more than $1 billion (£590 million) in carrier and service provider revenue. During his 12-year tenure at Level 3, Strohmeyer held several executive positions, supervising commercial services and large deal teams, overseeing customer operations and client service and managing strategic relationships with other companies, including channel partners.
Prior to Level 3, Mr Strohmeyer worked at NetRail, where he began as an executive vice president for operations and introduced four new products to the market and was part of a team that raised $85 million (£50 million) in capital. Later at NetRail, he was an executive VP for corporate development, helping to manage the sale of the company. Mr Strohmeyer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a Master’s degree in International Business Administration from Mercer University.
Regional Operating Chief, Americas
Raouf Abdel joined Equinix in 2012 as Regional Operating Chief, Americas and is responsible for the region’s engineering, construction and IBX operations. Mr. Abdel has over 20 years of experience in the telecom, construction and energy industries. Prior to joining Equinix, Mr. Abdel was President and CEO for OpTerra Energy Group where he was responsible for building the company’s business plan, securing funding and day to day operations. Before that Mr. Abdel was President, Business Markets Group, at Level 3 Communications where he led the company's $1 Billion Enterprise business unit. Mr. Abdel also held numerous leadership roles at Level 3 in network deployment, product development and M&A integration. Prior to Level 3, Mr. Abdel served as VP of Network Deployment at MFS Communications and was responsible for network and facility deployment throughout the US, Europe and Asia.
Mr. Abdel holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Temple University in Philadelphia.
Regional Managing Director, Americas
Mr Carvalho graduated in Business Administration at the Catholic University of Campinas, and has been active in the IT/Telecommunications market since 1999. He joined ALOG in 2005 as Head of Sales and became COO in 2012. In 2013, he was promoted to Country Manager and is currently responsible for the entire operation of ALOG Equinix in Brazil and Latin America. Over the course of his career, he has increased his expertise in leading with courses at Kellogg School of Management, Columbia Business School and Haas School of Business.
Senior Vice President, Sales, Americas
Corey Dyer comes to Equinix with more than 20 years of global sales and management experience. As senior vice president of sales, he’s responsible for driving customer-focused data center and interconnectivity solutions across all sales channels in the Americas. He prioritizes client service and developing cost-effective solutions to meet customer and market demands.
Before joining Equinix , Mr. Dyer worked at HP, where he transformed the company’s storage business, increasing market share by 9%. Prior to HP, Mr. Dyer worked at Network Appliance, where he led the build-out of their newly formed telco and service provider vertical. Before that, he served as vice president of worldwide sales at Apani Networks, where he was instrumental in building the channel sales team and designed their partner programs and offerings.
Mr Dyer began his career with Dell and held multiple sales and sales management roles during his 16 years with the company. His teams regularly finished No. 1 in server, software and peripheral sales, and he was a consistent winner of Dell’s annual Circle of Excellence award for finishing in the corporation’s top 5% of sales producers. Other distinctions included “Global Account Manager of the Year” and “Customer Advocate of the Year.”
Mr Dyer received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Wake Forest University.
