Currently under construction, AM4 will be the newest state-of-the-art Equinix IBX centre in the Amsterdam Science Park Campus. Standing more than 70 metres high, AM4 will be adjacent to the Equinix AM3 data centre, which has won numerous awards. Recognised for advances in innovation and sustainability through the use of in-ground Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage, AM3 warms nearby buildings with heat generated inside the facility. These and other sustainable technologies at Equinix Amsterdam facilities help customers to realise significant energy savings and a reduction in their CO2 footprint.
The first phase of development of AM4 will house 1,550 cabinets. Upon completion of the four expansion phases, the facility will provide a total of 4,200 cabinets on eight floors of data centre space with a total usable floor area of more than 124,000 square feet (11,500 square metres). The building and first phase is expected to be completed and operational by Q2 2017.
