IXEurope represents the datacentre industry at the first ever European Peering Forum
IXEurope is pleased to announce its participation as a silver sponsor in the first European Peering Forum to be held in Frankfurt on 29th and 30th November. The unique event is aimed at bringing together 150 individuals from the three principal European Internet Exchanges (LINX, AMS-IX, DE-CIX) and their members.
Michael Winterson, IXEurope's Vice President of International Sales and Marketing, will be presenting to the forum on 29 November to discuss the “Future of Peering” and the role of the datacentre.
“Peering is going through an era of transition. Traditionally, peering has mostly been about cost reduction. Today peering is specialising and diversifying, with the focus being on quality - performance, resilience, ease of use and so on,” comments Michael. “IXEurope is excited about bringing the story of the peering evolution and the future of peering to the forum.”
IXEurope launched its IXLAN service earlier in the year - an intra- and inter-datacentre peering connectivity service. Customers connected are able to buy and sell services to (or peer with) any other IXEurope customer connected to the same IXLAN. Once connected, IXEurope customers have access to three networks: single IXDatacentre, national (multiple IXDatacentres in one country) and international (access to all IXDatacentres across Europe).
IXEurope is one of Europe's fastest growing providers of datacentre services. Its principal activities include primary datacentre services, hosting infrastructure and business continuity solutions.
IXEurope works with enterprise and internet customers to provide resilient datacentre infrastructure to house their IT systems far more cost-effectively than through in-house provision. The benefits include optimised IT performance, improved systems availability and reduced corporate risk through improved regulatory compliance. By continually focusing on quality, IXEurope also gives clients exceptional service levels and on-site access to a high level of technical expertise.
With award winning datacentre facilities in key European cities, broad technology expertise and a proven track record, IXEurope provides solutions that give customers the confidence that their operations are protected. The Company has over 450 customers in the enterprise, internet and networking markets including Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Brse Systems AG, Network Rail and France Telecom.
Founded in 1998, IXEurope was listed on the London Stock Exchange in April 2006.
